Our History

Novorossiysk Marine Company Limited was established in June 1993 in compliance with the decision of three local shipping companies - "NOVOSHIP", "NOVOROSSIYSKRJBPROM" & "YUZHMORGEOLOGIYA", the Moscow Insurance company - "INGOSSTRAKH" and the local forwarding company - "NOVOROSSIYSKVNESHTRANS". The decision was to make this company private with 10% share of the Novorossiysk Insurance Company, which consequently lost its share after the financial, banking and cabinet crises of 1998.

After the parting Novorossiysk Marine Company Ltd has obtained TOTAL INDEPENDENCE STATUS.

The purpose of the establishment of the Novorossiysk Marine Company Ltd was to perform practical work aimed to proper defence of shipowners’ and P&I Clubs' interests in the sphere of the marine transport.

Our company holds state licences for surveying and protecting agent's activities.

Since the very beginning of its operation the company has been widely involved in P&I business representing interests of Protection & Indemnity Clubs in Russian southern ports and mainly at Novorossiysk and Tuapse.

In the process of establishment and evolution of the company there has been composed a permanent staff consisting of professionals, each specialist in his field, capable to solve all the complex of problems connected with servicing of the world-wide trading shipping. Besides, the company retains experts of specific spheres of law, technology and science from outside companies.

We have permanent long-term contacts with companies involved in marine business, such as Salvage & Diving Companies, Harbour Master's Office, Municipal authorities, Novorossiysk & Tuapse Ports Management, Ship Yard, State Standard officials, Novorossiysk Marine Academy and local laboratories.

The sound reputation and professional links with the local authorities, companies and associations give us access to information, ensuring rapid and reliable results.

On 8 December 1997 the NOVOROSSIYSK MARINE COMPANY LTD. was nominated as representative/surveyor of the Greek Classification Society "INTERNATIONAL NAVAL SURVEYS BUREAU S.A". (I.N.S.B.) to proceed to any technical work, ships surveys and statutory certification for which I.N.S.B. is duly authorized or any other Government work which may be entrusted to this Society in the area of Novorossiysk - Russia.

The main office of our company is based at Novorossiysk, Russia. It is well-equipped and completely computerized for communication, preliminary, interim and final reporting and accounting.

In the course of the company's operation there have not been any changes to the management staff and in spite of numerous stress situations in Russia and tricky attacks on the side of rivals stability, vitality and tolerance have been the integral features of the company.
